  • Degree in Chemical Sciences (June 1982) and PhD in Sciences (June 1985) from the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
  • Professor of Chemical Engineering (since 2005); Head of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of Zaragoza (2008 – 2016); Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Zaragoza (1990-1991).
  • Spanish Delegate of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO; Madrid-Spain) in the European CAPITA program (ERA-NET on Catalytic Processes for Innovative Technology Applications) (2010-2015).
  • Member of the Scientific Committee and the Board of Trustees of Institute IMDEA-Energia (Madrid, Spain) (2007-present).
  • Editor (2005-2008) and member of the Advisory Board (2005-2014) of the Chemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier).

Research stays at the Instituto de Catálisis y Petroquímica (INCAPE), Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe, Argentina (1991), and at the School of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering of the University of Oklahoma (USA) (2007).
